Hi, my name is Meghan, and I love hair! Ive loved doing hair since i was 13 years old. I used to cut and color my friends', my family, and my own hair, with kitchen shears, razors, and box dyes. When i got the opportunity to go to hairschool, I thought why not learn how to do this properly?

 

I immediately fell in love with the trade. When i started apprenticing, i found a busy little salon with 2 owners who I assisted for. On top of learning alot about salon business and client relationships, i mixed and applied every colour for those two stylists. Applying up to 10 colours a day, i quickly grew a passion and confidence in hair colouring.

 

Once i finished my apprenticeship, I wanted to branch out and do more. So i moved to a busy salon that had a huge walk-in base. There was always someone lined up waiting for another haircut. Working here really honed my haircutting skills, helping me to develop my speed and accuracy.

 

Though these two salons were fantastic jobs to start at, and great learning experiences, I was left wanting more. What I really wanted was a place where i could set up home and build a solid base of loyal clients. So i moved on to St. Boniface. To expand my horizons and be able to offer my clients a more unique experience, I also decided to become a certified makeup artist.

Working at Nirvana Salon was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. It's a place where I can really be creative and deliver the type of service I love to give. Working with people who want to build each other up is an amazing thing. I can't wait to see where my career will take me next!
